Prof. Dr. Ayça Tekin-Koru's presentation discussed the economic situation of the Ottoman Empire starting from the 19th century. Subsequently, the Republic Era was examined in periods of 1923-1930, 1930-1945, 1945-1990, and 1990-2024, focusing on economic, social, and political aspects. The economic policies evolving alongside the political events during these time frames were presented. The discussion also investigated how these developments, in conjunction with global trends, influenced both economic and political progress in the country. At last, Turkey's relationship with foreign capital was summarized in broad strokes, thus the Centennial Economic Seminars series were started, which is one of the targets of our club to make it actual in pursuit of the ideals of the Republic of Turkey.
